Connectivity with IoT APN Gateway
Our feature for your IoT project
When purchasing our 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat, you can easily connect your IoT devices to the mobile network via 1NCE APN (iot.1nce.net) after inserting the SIM card. APN, or “Access Point Name”, describes a gateway between the mobile and 1NCE network. In order for a mobile device to establish a data connection, it must be configured via an APN. Only then is it able to connect to the carrier. The 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat provides this access free of charge and without complications.
Advantages of APN
Included
The 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat already includes the APN function at no additional costUncomplicated
Simple configuration via our 1NCE customer portal or AT commands
Secure
The end device receives a private IP address of the 1NCE network
Insert IoT SIM and Start Immediately
You can connect to our mobile network simply, securely and easily via the included APN. After inserting your IoT SIM card, switch on the IoT device. It will automatically connect to an available mobile network. Next, set the APN to establish a data connection. You can easily set this via our 1NCE customer portal or via AT commands. Your device is automatically assigned a private IP address of the 1NCE network. You can then put your 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat into operation or make further settings in our 1NCE customer portal. Detailed information can be found in our documentation on the 1NCE APN function.
What is an IoT APN?
What is an IoT APN?
APN or Access Point Name is a gateway which connects cellular-based IoT devices to the internet or a private network. When the connected device uses cellular data, it needs to pass identification and provide the network with information on what kind of connection it requires. APN provides this information to the cellular carrier.
What is an IoT Connection?
What is an IoT Connection?
An IoT connection means the way IoT device use to communicate within the ecosystem. Many IoT devices rely on cellular networks for data transmission, which implies an IoT SIM card and an appropriate APN configuration. The choice of connection method depends on device compatibility, related costs and type of the deployment.
What is the IoT Connectivity Platform?
What is the IoT Connectivity Platform?
An IoT connectivity platform is a kind of a central hub for managing and monitoring your IoT devices. They enable adding and registering IoT devices to the network, connection management, e.g., APN configuration; receiving, storing and analysing data; control devices via remote check-ups.
